CAREER EXPERIENCE:
11/2007-Present: CENTECHGROUP-Laguna Niguel (Full-Time) As Senior Training Specialist,
responsible for developing training documentation and conducting officer/agent training classes for the Department
of Homeland Security's Customs & Border Protection (CBP) agency. In this capacity, I conduct software training
classes in the Microsoft Office Suite, which includes Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Access and Outlook. I
have a full background security clearance. Prior to my current assignment, I was a Wireless Radio Instructor,
training officers in the use of their VHF handheld and mobile wireless radios. 04/2006-09/2007: Portellus
Corporation-Irvine (Full-Time) As Software
Trainer and Curriculum Developer, responsible for creating and documenting software training curriculum and
conducting classroom training classes for clients and new hires in the use of the Portellus 'Loan Origination System'
(LOS). Portellus marketed automated underwriting systems to the mortgage industry. Reason for leaving: Portellus
was caught in the sub-prime mortgage failure and went out of business in October of 2007. 11/2005-04/2006: LendingTree Loans-Irvine (Contract Assignment)
As Instructional Designer, responsible for
developing internal training curriculum for training new sales agents. Projects included developing an 'self-help' eLearning
System for new hire/refresher training in loan origination. Reason for leaving: Completion of contract
assignment.
03/2005-10/2005: Optima Mortgage Corp-Tustin (Full-Time)
As Sales Trainer,
responsible for design and development of sales agent training curriculum. Programmed a massive eTraining and
Assessment System containing 12 chapters, 600 multimedia screens and 300 assessment questions. This two-week course combined
eTraining materials with subject-expert videos and slideshows. Reason for leaving: Business slump due to
worsening national mortgage crisis.
04/2003-02/2005: Greater Acceptance Mortgage-Orange (Full-Time)
As Training Manager, developed a massive Internet-based eTraining and Assessment System comprised of 11 chapters
and 700 Internet screens. The system has built-in testing with automatically-scored questions. My 10-day class combined Internet
self-study training with subject-expert speakers and role-playing workshops. My e-Training courseware is still actively maintained
on the Internet. Reason for leaving: Industry slowdown due to mortgage lending crisis.
12/01-04/03:
Ameriquest/Argent Mortgage-Orange (Full-Time)
As Strategic Planner for Ameriquest (Retail) and Training
Coordinator at Argent (Wholesale), was responsible for developing loan officer training curriculum combining classroom training
with web-based softskills courseware purchased from 3rd party vendors as 'Net-g' and 'SkillSoft'. Developed an automated 'Class
Scheduling System' and deployed to company Intranet for employee sign-ups. Reason for leaving: Promotional
opportunity to V.P of Training and to develop an Internet 'eTraining' System at Greater Acceptance Mortgage.
05/01-10/01: PMI Delta Dental-Cerritos (Contract Assignment)
As Sr. Technical Writer and Business
Analyst, was responsible for researching and documenting upgraded company standards conforming to HIPAA Section 142.308 on
'Physical Access Controls'. My document was used in upgrading standards on disaster recovery, emergency operations, equipment
control, facility access security, maintenance records, need-to-know, and sign-in escort guidelines. Reason for leaving:
Completion of contract assignment.
03/00-04/01: National Realty Trust-Mission Viejo (Contract Assignment)
As Technical Writer and Business Analyst at NRT (nation's largest real estate brokerage) was contracted to
analyze user requirements and document User Guide for their massive 'Trident Project', a web-based real estate system networked
to 800 Coldwell Banker, Century 21, Era and Fred Sands branches across the U.S. Assisted in developing the 500+ prototype
screens and documented project's technical specs. This is one of the largest residential real estate systems on the Internet!
Reason for leaving: Completion of contract assignment.
10/99-03/00: KIA Motors America-Irvine
(Contract Assignment)
As Technical Writer and Business Analyst, was responsible for documenting KIA’s
massive Vehicle Parts System, comprised of 560 user screens (A/S400-RPG/VB). Completed project on schedule and trained KIA's
Parts Department staff in its use. Reason for leaving: Completion of contract assignment.
11/98-10/99:
Infinium Software.com-Irvine (Full-Time)
As a Software Training Consultant, responsibilities included
training Infinium’s western region clients (six states) in 'HR/NT' a Human Resources package operating on a Windows
NT/Sequel Server. Conducted onsite training for clients such as MGM Grand Hotel. Reason for leaving: HR/NT
software discontinued and HR/NT trainers laid off.
08/97-11/98: Union Financial Corporation-Irvine
(Full-Time)
As HRIS Consultant, was responsible for upgrading HR Systems for this 120-staff
mortgage company and documenting the company's first Employee Handbook. Reason for leaving: Company filed for
Chapter 11.
10/93-08/97: Fluor Daniel-Irvine (Full-Time)
As Project Manager and Technical
Writer, responsible for managing and documenting a 'Work Process Improvement' study at all divisions to define desk procedures.
My study facilitated a corporate-wide conversion to 'self-service' using Interactive Voice Response (IVR) technology. Championed
'paperless systems' by converting printed benefits booklets to electronic media (digitized with RoboHELP 8.6)
for access on our Intranet. Reason for leaving: Large-scale employee reduction in force due to lack of future
work.
07/90-09/93: Hess & Associates, Inc.-Monterey Park (Full-Time)
As Software Trainer,
conducted training classes for the California Unified School Districts in the use of the Integral Systems Incorporated (ISI)
HR System package. Developed curriculum for this 2-day training class, which I conducted at California schools from Sacramento
to San Diego. Reason for leaving: Company went out of business.
09/87-06/90: McDonnell Douglas
Company-Long Beach (Full-Time)
As Sr. Business Analyst, was team leader responsible for developing
upgraded HR systems. Created a new modeling tool for Rapid Applications Development (RAD) and became a Corporate Trainer conducting
company-wide classes on Dr. Deming's teaming concepts of 'Management by Methods'. Reason for leaving: Aerospace industry
layoff.
01/86-08/87: American Honda Motors, Inc.-Gardena (Full-Time)
As Project Leader,
responsible for conducting a '4GL' Software Evaluation for implementing a new Decision-Support System (DSS). After an
18-month software study, management accepted my proposal to purchase Comshare's 'System W' and the new DSS was implemented
in August 1987. Reason for leaving: Dollar/Yen financial crisis forced Honda to offer a 'Voluntary
Separation' (6-months full pay to resign).
02/70 to 12/85: Fluor Corporation-Irvine (Full-Time)
As Fluor Corporation's Senior Business Analyst, was responsible for design and implementation of Fluor's first online
HR system and conducted corporate-wide training in its use. As HR Supervisor, managed the company's first Information
Center for end-user training. Became Administrative Systems Manager, responsible for all HR/Benefits systems upgrade implementations,
a position I held for eight years. Reason for leaving: Oil industry market decline and a Project Management
job offer from American Honda Motors.
